Benin City: Adams Oshiohmole Puts Edo State House For Sale.

Some months ago, EDO State was named as one the states in Nigeria that is facing serious debt challenges. That of all the states that borrowed money, Edo state is one of the highest debtors.
As a result of numerous uncompleted projects in the state, couple with the fact that there is no viable industry generating revenue in Edo State, the Government of Adams Oshiohmole has decided to sell the assets of Edo state located outside Edo land, perhaps to raise money to meet the financial challenges face by the state, or to maintain the flowers beautifying the King Square.
However, the Edo State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has threatened to stop the proposed sale of Edo House in Lagos, by the state government, describing the move to sell the multi-billion naira edifice as unacceptable.

Edo State Chairman of PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, who addressed journalists in Benin, weekend, said the planned sale of the asset was faulty, adding, "We have come out to reject the entire process. The Edo House valued at N3.5 billion was the most priced asset of the state."

Oshiohmole should not reply Orbhi at all. As a governor who knows what is doing to effect change, sell the house, (after all, Edo House in Lagos is too big for a small State like Edo) and get Edo state a smaller one in Zamfara, the one the meagre resources of the state can maintain.

Please, sell the damn house, even the one in Abuja, raise cash for the state.
