A policeman, Mr. Folorunso Egbedokun,a said that the day he discovered a bag of fetish item in his wife's wardrobe, he stopped loving her. He consequently asked the Customary Court sitting at Agege to dissolve the marriage between him and his wife, Mrs. Risikat Egbedokun,
He explained that "One day, I went into her wardrobe and I saw a bag full of fetish substances. When I asked her who owned them, she begged me not to tell anybody", the husband said.
"Since that day, I. stopped loving her." Folorunso informed the court that Risikat said that her mother procured the fetish items for her. He also complained that his wife always rained curses on him. The husband therefore urged the court to dissolve the marriage, and grant him the custody of the children for proper care.
In her defence, Risikat, who did not want to divorce her husband, said Folorunso deflowered her. The woman said her husband drinks every time he receives his salary. "So, he abandons his responsibility as a father, and drinks around town," she said. "His sister wants me to leave my husband's house and rent a house in the neighbourhood, but I still love my husband".
Meanwhile, the court president, Mr. Shokunle, adjourned the case for further hearing (Vanguard)
