Six Pregnant Young Girls Arested In Port Harcourt Baby Factory

Six pregnant young girls were yesterday rescued by men of the Nigerian police when they raided a baby factory in  Port Harcourt.
The Police followed a lead when they found  “a lady was found in suspicious circumstances with a day old baby and after interrogation she confessed that she gave birth to a baby in Port Harcourt,” the police spokeswoman said.

Ado-Ekiti: Öluyi Oba, 20 Years Old, Has Been Arraigned For Raping A 5 Year-old Girl

A Magistrate's Court sitting at Ado-Ekiti yesterday remanded Oluyi Oba, 20 year-old for alleged rape of a five-year-old girl.
The police prosecutor, Mr. Emmanuel David, told the court that the accused committed the offence on October 22 at 1p.m. in Iyin-Ekiti contrary to Section 218 of the Criminal Code Cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The magistrate court has no jurisdiction to try mater, so, plea of the accused was not taken.
Chief Magistrate Simeon Ojo adjourned the case to November 21 for legal advice from the the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP)

Australia Highest Court Denies Civil Servant Compensation For Injury Substained During Sex Bout


On Wednesday a Court in Australia ruled that a civil servant injured during a hotel-room sex romp during a business trip in 2007 was not entitled to workers’ compensation.

The  legal battle which has been on  for six years was finally decided on Wednesday when the court decided  whether injuries sustained when a glass light fitting was pulled from a wall were work-related.
According to Vanguard  Newspapers, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal first denied compensation on the grounds that the civil servant’s injuries were not work-related.

Nigeria President, Ebele Goodluck Jonathan on Monday sought the support of the Israeli government in order to fight terrorism occasioned by the activities of the fundamental Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

Mr. Segun Okeseara Arraigned For Assaulting A Neighbour With Iron Bucket Over A Sachet Of Pure Water

One Mr Segun Okeseara, 46 years old, of No.3, Olatunde Adegbesan St., Alapere, Ketu, Lagos, has been charged to court for allegedly assaulting his neighbours with an aluminium bucket over alleged theft of his sachets of pure water. He has been charged to Isheri Magistrates' Court for assault.
On arraignment, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The presiding magistrate granted him bail in the sum of N100,000.00
The case is adjourned for hearing.

Police Quizzed A Couple Who Sold Maria For ($350) 350 Dollars.

As the parents of Maria, the mysterious blonde girl found in a Greek Roma camp are being quizzed by Bulgaria police, perhaps for selling her, the brother, Jesus said they left her behind in Greece. The couple, named as Sasha Ruseva and Atanas Rusev, have between eight and 10 children, five of whom are blonde and even closely resemble the girl found last week.

Ex-reps member Dino Melaye, Others Arrested For Organizing ''Stella Oduah-Must-Go Protest''

The police in Abuja on Wednesday arrested the Executive Director, Anti-Corruption Network, Dino Melaye, after the former House of Representatives member led pro-democracy activists on a protest, calling for the removal of the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, over the armoured car scandal.
The minister has recently come under fire for allegedly ordering the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to buy her two bullet-proof BMW cars, worth $1.6m (about N255m).

The protest, which held at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, around 11am, was not without drama as some groups also staged a counter-protest, to drum up support for the embattled minister.

''President Goodluck Jonathan’s Fleet Larger Than Three Domestic Airlines'' - Reports

The declining fortunes of the domestic airlines have made President Goodluck Jonathan’s 10-aircraft Presidential Air Fleet larger   than the fleets of three domestic airlines combined, investigations by our correspondent revealed on Tuesday.
The three carriers are Chanchangi, MedView, and FirstNation airlines. Chanchangi has one aircraft; Medview Airlines, three; while FirstNation has  two.

IRS Airlines, with five aircraft in its fleet, has only one that is currently operational. The four others have been sent overseas for routine maintenance for a long time now.
It can be technically assumed that the PAF is bigger than the four domestic airlines, according to industry experts.

10 Feared Dead In Warri Refinery Explosion As MEND Claims Responsibility

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has claimed responsibility for the sabotage of facilities inside the Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company in Warri, Delta State, on Tuesday, saying it actually wanted to carry out what it termed “Hurricane Exodus” to burn down the entire facility.
There was pandemonium at about 11.00 a.m on Tuesday, as fire engulfed the refinery.
Disclosing its action in a press statement circulated electronically to journalists in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday, by its spokesman, Jomo Gbomo, the  group claimed that its plan was to burn down the refinery.

Good News: The Wife of Dr. Ona Ekhomu Kidnapped Yesterday Has Been Rescued



The combine team of  the State Security Service(SSS) and the Police have been able to rescue Madam Victoria, the wife of Dr. Ona Ekhomu who was abducted by the gunmen in front of Ambrose Ali University yesterday
 The rescue took place  near Warri in Delta State.

The gunmen were said to have abandoned Victoria when it was clear to them that they were being chased.

Madam Ekhomu, wife of Dr. Ona Ekhomu of Transwold Security Ltd Has Been Kidnapped



Madam Ona Eekhomu has been reported kidnapped along Benin Auchi Road today.
The kidnappers adducted the woman along with two of her children. The driver of the victims was reportedly killed in the process.

Madam Ona Ekhomu flew into Benin City this afternoon and was kidnapped on her way to Esan,  Edo State.
Dr Ona Ekhomu is the chairman of Transworld Security Limited base in Lagos.
The kidnapping took place same day Adams Oshiomhole, Governor of Edo state sign a bill which prescribed death sentence on any kidnapper within the state.
Last Sunday, Justice Okungbowa was released after three weeks in kidnappers’ den. Same day, two elderly wives of Chief Efionayi Iyayi were kidnapped on their way to  church.
This is now a case too many in Edo state.

Death In A Traditional Marriage As Brother Attempted To Killer Brother Killed Outsider

On the 10th of October, Tragedy struck at a traditional wedding at Ibagwa, Ezimo-Agu in Udenu Local Government Area, Enugu state when one Ozor Obodo Ezenwa, a guest, tried to stop one of the bride’s brothers, Chukwudi Adonu, from shooting another, Obinna Adonu, during a scuffle, was allegedly killed.
During a traditional marriage, an argument ensued between the two brothers, which led to a fight.

49 Fear Dead As Lao Airlines Plane Plunged Into A river

 A Lao Airlines plane carrying at least 44 people and 5 crew members crashed as it tried to land in southern Laos killing all on board on Wednesday, officials said.
The plane travelling from the capital Vientiane plunged into the Mekong River around eight kilometres (five miles) from Pakse airport in Champasak province in southern Laos, officials said.
Lao Airlines confirmed the crash in a statement on its official Facebook page, in which it said there were 44 passengers and an additional five crew.

Suicide Bombers Die In Failed Plot At Super Eagles And Ethiopia's Match

Two Somali suicide bombers who had planned to kill football fans during Ethiopia's World Cup qualifying match against Nigeria on Sunday blew themselves up accidentally before carrying out the attack, the Ethiopian government said on Monday.
The explosion on Sunday happened in the upscale Bole district of the capital, about 5 km (3 miles) from Addis Ababa Stadium where thousands of fans were gathering for the match.
"They were Somali nationals and plotted to carry out a suicide attack disguised as fans on either the stadium or areas where large crowds gathered to watch the game".

Family wants Justice for Nigerian Student Killed In Cyprus

The family of a 20-year-old Nigerian student, who was killed in the North Cyprus city of Nicosia, has cried out to the Federal Government and relevant authorities for intervention.
Gabriel Soriwei, a first year student of Electrical/Electronic/Engineering at the Cyprus International University, Nicosia, was allegedly knocked down by a female driver on July 13.
The impact of the accident caused Mr. Soriwei to fall into a coma; he eventually died on September 7, his family said.
