TWO suspected gays, Samuel Friday and Oni Oluwatobi, have been arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, for allegedly having sexual intercourse around 2.00 a.m. inside the premises of a church.
The Church where the act was committed is popularly known as Peace of Jesus Apostolic Church, is located at Asubiaro area in Osogbo.
The suspects, Samuel Friday is 19 years old and Oni Oluwatobi is 18
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Solomon Oladele claimed that the suspcts were caught desecrating the temple of holiness around May 2013
The Prosecutor also said that Samuel Friday appears to be deep in the act of homoxuality and alleged that sometime in May, 2013 at Sadiat area, Ilesa Road in Osogbo, Friday sexually assaulted a boy (name withheld) by robbing and sucking his penis without the latter’s approval.
The prosecutor contended that the accused persons have committed offences contrary to and punishable under Section 516, 249 (D), and Section 217 of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.
However, the two suspects pleaded not guilty and their counsel, Mrs. Nnenna Ngwu, prayed the court to grant them bail , arguing that they are presumed innocent until the contrary is proved
The presiding magistrate, Olusola Aluko, granted the accused persons bail and adjourned the matter to November 14
