Tijani Musliu, a-40-year-old old man has been arraigned in Osun State Magistrate Court
sitting in Osogbo on Friday for armed robbery.
When the charge was read and was asked to take his plea, he demonstrated as if he was receiving visitation from God. But, the intelligent Magistrate, Mrs Ademola
Olowolagba, saw through the antics of the accused and was not deceived by accused who pretended to be mad. The Magistrate promptly ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesa Prison.
The police prosecutor, Sgt. Elisha Olusegun, told the court that on October 21, at about 10.52 p.m.,at Oke Aresa
in Iragbiji, Osun State.
"The accused with some other ones at large, armed themselves with
dangerous weapons, such as locally made pistol, and other related charms, in an attempt to carry out their operation.
"They conspired to rob one Moris Adedeji of the sum of N6,000 and some other valuables at gun point,"
The alleged offence
contravened Section 6 (b) and punishable under Section 1(1) of the Armed Robbery and Fire Arms, Act Cap. R11 Vol. 14, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
Counsel to the accused, Mrs Bose Dada, prayed the court to grant bail to the accused in most
liberal terms.
The Magistrate rejected the bail application and remanded the
accused in Ilesa prison.
The case has been adjourned to 19th December, 2013.
