The student was said to have sneaked behind the teacher and gave him a deep cut on the head with a cutlass on Thursday.
The attack appears unprovoked though, some coward cultist would inflict such injury on an unsuspecting victim over tussles for a girl or girlfriend. Or, it could just be act of making bones.
One of the students of OGS, said, "I think the person that attacked Mr. Olamoyegun is a cultist. That is what everybody is saying here because he just sneaked behind our teacher and attacked him with the cutlass in his hand. He did not give Mr.Olamoyegun the chance to defend himself.
"Now, everybody is worried because nobody knows whether our teacher survived
the attack."
However, Olamoyegun is responding to treatment at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo situation revealed that some of the dreaded cultist that planned the attack have been arrested.
According to Punch Newspaper, a similar incident happened at St. Mark Grammar School, Osogbo on Wednesday where a pupil was reportedly stabbed by one of his mates. Although there was apprehension in the school over the condition of the pupil, he was said to have survived the attack.
Since the introduction of the new education policy merging schools by Gov. Rauf Aregbesola violence has increased in schools in the state.
Three weeks ago according to Punch, there was violent and bloody clash at Baptist Girls High School, Osogbo between one suspected cult groups with rival cult group.
The Principal of Baptist High School, Ejigbo, Mr. Layi Oguntola, was also attacked last week by some Muslim thugs over hijab controversy.
