Delta State, an assassination attempt was made on the life of the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.
Victor Ochei.
At the scene of the crime, locally made canon contraptions, which triggered the explosion was found.
However a female aide to the Speaker was critically injured.
The Speaker as we learnt, was on a routine familiarization and thank-you tour of his Aniocha North Constituency.
The Speaker and his supporters had gathered at Eke Market square and still exchanging pleasantries when the explosion occurred
The explosive wrapped in a white satin material was strapped to the chair of the speaker in the front row. The chairs and tables were also decorated in white materials, so nobody suspected the evil intention thwarted by divine intervention of God
The aide whose left ankle was badly injured, is now in stable condition at Delta State University Teaching Hospital Oghara.
