Supreme Court Of Nigeria has Voided Igbo Tradition Of Disinheriting Female Child



The Supreme Court, on the 14th day of April 2014,  voided the Igbo customary law, which denies daughters inheriting their fathers’ estate. The Supreme Court said it was discriminatory and in conflict with the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

How parents In Bayelsa State Locked Their Daughter in a Cage 3 Years Because of Convulsion



Mr Selekeowei Olokumo, obviously a wicked  parent in Bayelsa state has been alleged to have kept their 16 year old daughter in a cage for three years because she suffered from convulsion.

According to Channels Television, a regular visitor to the home of Mr Selekeowei Olokumo, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria’s South-South region, would probably have noticed a small make shift building directly opposite his one bedroom apartment which could easily be mistaken for a generator cage.

News reaching us shows that  suspected members of the Islamist militant group, Boko Haram, have abducted 103 students when they raided Girls Secondary School in Chibok, a town on the border between Borno and Adamawa States. Borno is one the states in the north being held hostage byBoko Haram Islamic terrorist .

President Jonathan Cancels Trip To Ibandan Over Nyanya Attacked

President Jonathan has canceled his proposed trip to Ibadan Oyo State today to visit the scene of the bomb blast at Nyanya Motor Park Abuja with Four Service Chiefs & the National Security Adviser.

President Jonathan was supposed to be in Ibadan to felicitate with the Olubadan of Ibadan who turned 100 years today.

Twin blasts at a packed bus station in Nigeria’s capital killed “dozens of people” on Monday, a spokesman for the state-run emergency services said.
“It’s correct to say dozens of people were killed following the bomb blasts in Nyanya Bus Park this morning,” Manzo Ezekiel of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said.
