Uchenna Uhuegbu who was charged for killing an 18-month-old baby girl has been sentenced to death by Justice Nonyerem
Okoronkwo of Owerri High Court.
The victim , Chimuanya Iwuagwu, at Odummara, Orodo, on May 17, 2009, met her untimely death when her relative left her with the accuse to throw away refuse.
Uhuegbu claimed that a mystery voice advised him to kill the
little girl if his life was to be better.
The Judge agreed with the prosecution that since the little girl’s relation did not find the duo on her
return, it was for the accused to account for the baby that was left in
his care and, therefore sentenced him to death for murder.
