A computerised data base is to be provided for the security agencies in the country in order to confront the security challenges and reduce acts criminality to the barest minimum.
The National Security Adviser to President Goodlcuk Jonathan, Col Sambo Dasuki(rtd) made this assertion, yesterday, in his lecture- Nigeria’s Security Challenges; The Way Forward at the ongoing 2013 3rd Seminar on National Security organised by the Alumni Association of National Defence College [AANDEC].

He said, ‘‘Nigeria, as it obtains in most Western countries, must have a computerised data base, not only of criminals but of everybody within the country, including visiting foreigners. Such data base needs not to be in one single place, it could be established at both the state and federal levels and by each security organisation.
The NSA also identified the international links of the Boko Haram with other terrorist groups such as the Al-Qaeda in the Magherb, Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and al-Shabab in Somalia, and warned that ‘‘The participation of Nigeria forces in the Malian crisis is bound to open another lank of vulnerability to the Nigerian interest worldwide because the Malian terrorists have vowed to retaliate against any country that participates in the operation. They have demonstrated capability by taking people of different countries hostage.”
