When the charge was read, chigbo pleaded guilty to the charge and the Presiding Judge, Alhaji Lawal Munir, convicted him to prison for 7 months with an option of N5000 fine for gross indecency.
The parents of the victim had earlier pleaded with the court that they were ready to drop the charge but the court said it was no longer in their position to say since the matter is between the government and the accused.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Ariki Kaura, told the court that the father of a 13-year-old JS 1 student reported the case on Nov. 27 Kaura said that complainant, a resident of Dutse, reported that the convict enticed his
daughter into his room with N1,000 and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
He said that the offence contravened Section 285 of the Penal Code.
