do-Ekiti — An Ado-Ekiti Magistrate Court in Ekiti State, yesterday, remanded one Akintunde Omotehinde, 27, in prison custody for allegedly raping his 60-year-old mother.
Prosecutor Ebenezer Ewuola told the court that the accused committed the offence on August 23, in Ajebamidele Area of Ado-Ekiti.
He claimed that the accused ‘forcefully and unlawfully’ had carnal knowledge of his mother, which led to her being hospitalised.
He added that on the same date, the accused assaulted and inflicted injuries on one, Isiaka Ojo, who attempted to separate him from his mother during the act.

On the 23rd Day of August, one Akintunde Omotehinde, 27 year old was alleged to have raped his 60 years old mother.
Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti, has remanded him in prison custody for the offence
The Prosecutor, Ebenezer Ewuola told the court that the accused ‘forcefully and unlawfully’ had carnal knowledge of his mother, which led to her being hospitalized.
He added that on the same date, the accused assaulted and inflicted injuries on one, Isiaka Ojo, who attempted to separate him from his mother during the act.
He said the offence contravened Section 358 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor said he had sent his case file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, for legal advice.
The magistrate, Mrs Patricia Ajibade, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody, pending the DPP’s legal advice and adjourned the case till October 16.
