Alhaji Ganiyu Kolawole, A 71-year old,serial rapist,has been arrested by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC in Akure, the Ondo State capital, for allegedly raping a seven-year-old primary one pupil.
The suspect, an ex-convict who was jailed in similar offence, works as night guard and farmer.
The victim who has no father but lives with her mother in one, was returning from school hungry and thirsty along Mission Road, Ayetoro Street, Oba-Ile, Akure where the suspect lives alone in a dilapidated building.
The suspect seeing the condition of the victim, who was returning from St.Paul Annex Primary School,Oba-Ile,lured her into his room with biscuits when she asked for water where he defiled her.
The Alhaji seized her, covering her mouth with apiece of cloth when she started shouting. It was gathered that after defiling the girl, the Alhaji cleaned her up as she was bleeding.
Although the Suspect denied the allegation, investigation revealed that the girl has been raped. The girl was taken to the general hospital where it was confirmed she had been defiled.
NSCDC officials said investigation reveals that the suspect who hail from Benue State, did not act alone, there is an accomplice that is yet to be arrested. Investigation is still on going.
