Supreme Court Of Nigeria has Voided Igbo Tradition Of Disinheriting Female Child



The Supreme Court, on the 14th day of April 2014,  voided the Igbo customary law, which denies daughters inheriting their fathers’ estate. The Supreme Court said it was discriminatory and in conflict with the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Twin blasts at a packed bus station in Nigeria’s capital killed “dozens of people” on Monday, a spokesman for the state-run emergency services said.
“It’s correct to say dozens of people were killed following the bomb blasts in Nyanya Bus Park this morning,” Manzo Ezekiel of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said.

Captain Idris Wada (retd) the Governor of Kogi State whose convoy injured many and killed Prof. Iyayi, the former Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), was reportedly chased away from the emergency ward of the Lokoja General Hospital on Tuesday by the angry leaders of the Union.

First Civilian Governor of Plateau State Chief Solomon Lar is dead.

The Plateau state governor Jona Jang, today announced the death of the first civilian governor of the state, Chief Solomon Lar.
"I can confirm to you that the family has confirmed to Gov.
Jonah Jang that Chief Solomon Lar is dead,'' information commissioner, Abraham Yiljap, said in Jos on Wednesday. Yiljap said that Lar, aged 80, died on Wednesday in a U. S.
hospital.

Amanda Hutton Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison For Starving Her 4 year Old Son to Death


 Amanda Hutton , an alcoholic, was found guilty of the manslaughter of Hamzah Khan by a jury at Bradford Crown Court yesterday, consequently, she was sentenced to 15 years in prison

Amanda Hutton was arraigned in court for starving to death her four-year-old son,Hamzah Khan and also prevented the burial of his body and neglecting five of her other children.
