Wasiu Moshood Jailed 2 Years For Stealing a BlackBerry Phone

Wasiu Moshood, a 27-year-old man, has been sentenced to two years imprisonment without an option of fine by an Ibadan magistrate’s court for stealing a BlackBerry phone.

According to vanguard: Moshood was said to have committed the offence during the commissioning of a branch of Shoprite in Ibadan on Friday, June 19, 2014.

The phone which is estimated at N45,000 belonged to a woman, Adekoya Falilat, who the convict reportedly beat to stupor for accusing him for stealing.

At his first appearance before the Chief Magistrate, O. A. Amzat, the convict had pleaded guilty to the charges of stealing and was remanded in Agodi Prison till the adjourned day.

Before remanding him, the Chief Magistrate Amzat said since he had pleaded guilty to the charges, he should be remanded at Agodi till June 30.

When the case was due for judgment, the magistrate tried endlessly to make the convict tell the court where he sold the phone but he claimed he could not.

The court then delivered its judgment.

Prince Ayinde Oniru and Usman Arrested, Charged For stealing

One prince Ayinde Oniru, a 24-year-old man and Adekunle Usman were arraigned  before a Lagos chief magistrate’s court, sitting at Ebute Metta, for allegedly stealing from two women under the pretence of importing and delivering some goods to a Lagos Oba, His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi.

The accused are facing an eight-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and impersonation.

The prosecutor, Feddy Asu, told the court that the self-acclaimed prince, his co-accused and his other accomplices, who are at large, had sometime in September 2013, in Surulere area of the state conspired to fraudulently obtain N470,000 from one Adeola Babatunde on the pretence that they would assist her to import some goods from abroad, which they failed to do.

He said the defendants fraudulently obtained some goods worth N3.5 million between March and May from one Princess Adeleke with the pretext that the goods would be delivered to a Lagos monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi.

Asu also stated that the items that were collected from the victims included some note books, one i-phone 5, one i-pad tablet, assorted wrist watc hes, gold jewellery and cash sum of N250,000.

The duo were also said to have obtained N500,000 from one Jelli Elias with a promise that they would help him to buy a landed property at Lekki.

The prosecutor further informed the court that Oniru, falsely represented himself to a Diamond Bank branch as one Adeniyi Elegushi.

According to the prosecutor, the offences, committed, is contrary to sections 409, 311 (1) (a) and punishable under section 285 (1) and 378 (1) of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2011.

Section 285, prescribes 14 years imprisonment for any offender.

Earlier the defendants had pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

However Magistrate F.I Adefioye, admitted the defendants onr bail, in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the matter till August 4, for mention.

A man bites a woman breast over a stove burner

Uche Afokaigbo, a 34-year-old man, has been arraigned for allegedly biting  a woman’s breast over a stove burner. He was on Monday brought before an Itire Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

According to daily post : Afokaigbo, who resides at No. 20, Enoma St., Ago-Palace Way, Ago-Okota, Lagos is facing a one-count charge of assault.

The prosecutor, Insp. Olakunle Shonibare, told the court that the accused had on May 12, attacked one Kemi Oluwaja of the same address by viciously biting her on the breast.

He added that a fight broke out between the wife of the accused and the complainant, Oluwaja, over a stove burner, which consequently led to the intervention of the accused.

Shonibare said the accused bit the complainant on her breast, after which he snatched the stove burner from her.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Gbajumo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

How a 41 year old killed 86 years old dad over a parcel of land.

Yusuf Akinbiyi, 41, was reminded by Ebute‑Meta Chief magistrate’s court in Lagos, yesterday to lkoyi Prisons for allegedly killing his father, Agboola Akinbiyi, 86 years old.

The accused, who resides at Madon village, Ijede Ikorodu, Lagos, is facing a one‑count charge of murder.
The magistrate, Miss A.O. Komolafe, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending legal advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.
The court did not take the plea of the accused.
The prosecutor, Inspector Frank Inah, said the crime was committed on May 21 at about 11.05 p.m. at the residence  of the  deceased.
Inah said the deceased and the accused lived together, adding that the deceased had provided for the accused as he was jobless.
He said: “The accused wanted to sell his father’s land to enable him travel out of the country, but his father held on to the documents.
“The accused and the deceased had an argument during which the accused beat the deceased with his hands and covered his mouth and nostrils with pillow.”
He said this made the accused to suffocate to death, adding that the accused was later arrested by the Police.
Inah said the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Komolafe adjourned the case till August 11 for mention

Avoseh Satingo, a teenager, remanded in prison custody for Raping an 80 years old woman


One  Avoseh Satingo, a teenager, who was arraigned to a Lagos magistrate court  for allegedly raping an 80-year-old blind woman has a case to answer.
The court ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody.
The Magistrate, Yewande Aje-Afunwa made this known following advice by the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
She said the DPP advised that a prima facie case had been established against 19-year-old Satingo.
The Police had on March 24 charged the teenager with raping an octogenarian on her bed.
The prosecutor, ASP Godwin Anyanwu, told the court that the accused, who resides at the Cele Church Bus Stop, Bilewu Oshoffa area, Agbovipe village, Badagry, raped the grandmother in her  room.
According to him, Satingo committed the offence on February 17 at 1p.m.
He said: “Satingo took advantage of the condition of the blind complainant and raped her on her bed.
“He was apprehended by members of the community who sighted him coming out of his victim’s room as she cried for help.”
He said the offence contravened Sections 258 and 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011

Dr. Simon Imuekeme, Former Secretary To Edo State Govt,Remanded For Contract Scam.

The former Secretary to Adams Oshiohmole led Edo State Government, Dr. Simon Imuekeme, has been reminded in prison custody, for contract scam.
His summons to admit bail application is however is to be heard and determined next adjourned date.
Giving the ruling on Monday, Justice Esther Edigin of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin, also ordered to be remanded in prison custody, former officials of the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Joseph Emoabino,Davi Igbinoba and Aghator Efe.

Iranian Court Applied The Mosaic Law: A Man to have his eyes gouged out, ear & nose cut off for throwing acid in girl's face


An Iranian man who threw acid in the face of young girl and caused the girl to lose her eyesight, right ear and nose, has been sentenced in accordance with Mosaic law of eye for an eye. The accused is to have his eyes gouged out, his right ear and nose cut off as punishment, an Iranian court has ruled.

Akeem Adeoye Who allegedly Pushed A man Into a Moving Truck Arraigned, Granted Bail


A tricyclist, who allegedly caused the death of a retired custom officer, Ibukun Oniremi, was on Thursday charged before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The accused, 25-year-old Akeem Adeoye is facing a charge of manslaughter.
The prosecutor, Insp. George Nwosu said the accused committed the offence on Jan. 20 at 10.00 a.m. on Marwa Road, Ijegun, a Lagos suburb.

Pastor Chibuike Israel Arraigned For Having Unlawful Sex Of A 9 Months Pregnant Woman

Chibuike Israel,a 28 year–old pastor, was arraigned yesterday before an Ejigbo Magistrate's Court in Lagos,for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge and stealing the sum of N250.

The accused, who resides at the Ijegun area of Lagos, is facing three-count charge of sexual assault, stealing and obtaining by false pretences.

Taiwo Madamidola, a 28-year-old woman,and one AjayiOluwasegun, 40, have been arraigned before  Ebute
Meta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State, and remanded in prison custody for the alleged murder of a 15- year-old boy, Michael Gbore. The two suspects were arraigned on three counts of murder.
The police said while Madamidola was biting the deceased while Oluwasegun was hitting him with his hand till he died at Igando Street, in the Abesan Estate area of Lagos State

Court Remands Eji Emmanuel, For Killing Chief Sylvanus Okoye Over attempt Rape .

The magistrate of Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court Mr. E.O Ogunkanmi has ordered the remand of Eji Emmanuel, a 22-year-old man, for DPP advice over the murder of one Chief Sylvanus Okoye, 39 by the said said accuse.
 August 1, 2013, Emmanuel was alleged to have stabbed Okoye with a kitchen knife in the neck which resulted to his death for allegedly attempting to rape the accused.
The accused who fled the scene after the incident was arrested on November 27 in Anambra State

Uchedu Chigbo, 23 Year-old Boy, Jail 7 Months For Having Sex With A 13 Year-old Girl

A 23 year-old man, Uchedu Chigbo has been sentenced to seven months imprisonment by Kubwa Upper Area Court in Abuja on Friday for having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.
When the charge was read, chigbo pleaded guilty to the charge and the Presiding Judge, Alhaji Lawal Munir, convicted him to prison for 7 months with an option of N5000 fine for gross indecency.

Abubakar Has Been Arraigned For Criminal Breach Of Trust


Sadiq Abubakar , a 30-year-old driver, has been charged to  a  Magajin Gari Sharia Court, Kaduna, for alleged criminal breach of trust.
Sadiq Abubakar rented a Golf car belong to Malam Yahaya Ibrahim of Kabala Doki in Kaduna for commercial purposes on an agreement that Sadiq Abubakar be remitting to the owner of the vehicle N17,000 every week
Sadiq who has been using the vehicle since June this year has only remitted to the owner the sum of N23, 000,
Sadiq was arrested upon compliant by  Malam Yahaya Ibrahim and charged to court.

David Kwiatkowski plead guilty to infecting 46 people with Hepatitis C after they were administered shots using syringes tainted with his blood.
A federal judge sentenced a hospital technician to 39 years in prison Monday, The Boston Globe reports, after he pleaded guilty to infecting 46 people with hepatitis C, a blood-borne virus that damages the liver.

Tajudeen Omole, a 50-year-old man, Has Been Arraigned For Raping a 12-Year-Old Girl


Police prosecutor, Inspector Solomon Oladele has arraigned Tajudeen Omole, a 50-year-old man,, before an Osogbo chief magistrate’s court for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a 12-year-old girl on November 27, 2013 at 1, Ikolaba, Osogbo, the capital of OsunState.
According to information at our disposer, the accused went to the house of the victim to ask after her sister who he claimed was his friend. The sister was not in the house and the accused cunningly lured the girl into her room where he allegedly defiled her.

Mr. Sanni Idowu Has Been Arraigned For Raping His Daughter Repeatedly.


Mr. Sanni Idowu, 48 year-old man,living at Ifedapo Amuloko area of Ibadan, has been Charged to a magistrate court for raping his daughter repeatedly. The amoral rapist was said to have de-virgin his daughter when she was 10 years old. The girl is now 15 years and he didn't stop the rape, rather, he threatened to killed her if she ever spill his evil act.
He was however arrested on the 15th October 2013 and charged to court. When the charged was read, he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The presiding Magistrate, S. A Oyediran ordered that the accused be remanded in Agodi Prison,Ibadan while the case was adjourned to December 9 for hearing.
