How Two Female Students Of Ebonyi State University Made A Five-Armed- Gang

TWO female students of Ebonyi State University where among the five armed robbery suspects that tried to rob a businesswoman of N1.5m along Murtala Muhammed Highway by the Cross River State new secretarial on Friday evening.

The robbers who hang out around banks pretending to operate a commercial vehicle approached the woman who had just withdrew huge sum of money from a bank along Calabar Road, near the Watt market, to join their cab and the woman who appeared in a hurry to get home actually rode with them in the golf car they operated with.
In midway, the robbers brought out a gun and told her to co-operate and hand over the money.
She said: "The suspects told me to cooperate with them and quietly hand over the N1.5 million or I would be killed." She said she suddenly became "angry in the
spirit because this money is contribution money and my members who want to share the money on Sunday so they could get their Christmas things early would not believe me. So I was ready to die and began to raise alarm in the vehicle and calling for help".
She said her shouts attracted the attention of a taxi driver who decided to give the Golf
car a hot chase until he
overtook and blocked the vehicle at Atekong Drive".
The driver of the five man gang and another suspect escaped, but luck ran out of the female robbers.
She added, "These two ladies were apprehended by the people who came to see what was the trouble between the two taxis.
They began to beat them when they heard what they had done
to me."
They were thoroughly beaten and stripped naked before they were handed over to the police
Mr. Hoggan Bassey, the Police Public Relations officer of the State Police Command, confirmed that the ladies confessed that they were students of Ebonyi State University and members of a syndicate which left Abakaliki in Ebonyi State to Aba in Abia
State.

His words, "nemesis has caught up with them. They are being investigated and so far
they have confessed that they used to hang around bank premises with their car, shouting one chance, one chance and waiting for people
coming out of the bank with money.
He said they would soon be charged to court.

How ATM Robbers Kill Two Policemen, And 4 Of Them Aressted .

A six-man robbery gang that attacked a second generation bank's Automated Teller Machine, ATM, at Ipaja area of Lagos State, were reported to have opened fire on the policemen who responded to the distress call of the robbery operation, killing two of the policemen in the
early hours of Sunday.
The police team leader, Longus Amuzie, an Assistant Superintendent of Police is among those killed. Report have it the robbers attempted to break open the ATM was foiled, when the
policemen from Ayobo Police Division arrived on the scene with more men and better fire force and four of the robbery gang were arrested.
Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the report, and money was stolen from the ATM

How 17 Igbo Youths Converted To Islam And Get Cash Gift From Governors.

About 17 Igbo businessmen have allegedly converted to Islam for financial gift. Upon their denouncing their formal faith and accepting to convert to Islam, Sokoto state Governor, Aliyu Wamakko, Bauchi state Governor, Alhaji Isa Yuguda each gave them N5million to the
Igbo natives who converted to Islam. Also, the APC Governor of Imo state Rochas Okorocha and former
Governor of Abia state Orji Uzor Kalu gave N2 million and N1million respectively to the
converts at Abuja's National Mosque yesterday.
The new converts, are young men who are between the ages of 25 and 35 years,described Islam as a "truthful,
peaceful and charitable faith."
Also, one Yoruba, and a
Northern Hausa were also among the new convert .
Consequently, their names will now take a muslin prefix to be thoroughly assimilated.
We now have Chief Suleiman Nwachukwu,
Ibrahim Uchenna Ukah,
Muhammad Sani Stanley Uziogwe, Bello Kelvin Nmadu, Habibullah Kosoro Ofolete,
Jamilu Osita Agocha, Haruna Chichebem Nwabirika, Abdulazeez Paschal Iroegbulam, Suleiman Ifeanyi
Uzoma, Adam Nduka Nweko, Dawuda Nnaemeka Uzoma,
Aliyu Prince Onyekwume and Musa (Anayo) Adugbaa, all of
Imo state. Others are
Abdulmalik Bongo Edet (Cross River), Hassan Babalola Shegun (Ondo), Nasir Peter
Ndubisi (Anambra) and Bashir Prince Dulla (Akwa Ibom).
"I was attracted to Islam
because of the truth it
resonated in me, and I saw the charity of the faith which all its
adherents find peace and solace in," said Ibrahim Ukah, formerly Uchenna Ukah, a
younger brother of a fellow convert, Tobechi Ukah, now Abdullahi Ukah.
The Chief Imam of Abuja National Mosque, Sheik Musa Muhammed administered the Oath of Sha'adah on the
converts and pronouncing their newly adopted Muslim names
during the weekly Jumat
Khutbah (Sermon).

How Abba Aliyu Kidnapped And Killed His 7-Year-old Cousin To Acquire A Honda Civic

Abba Aliyu, the 18-year-old kidnapper has given reason why he arranged the kidnapped of his 7-year-old cousin, Amir Aliyu in Kaduna.
Abba Aliyu said he masterminded the kidnap of his primary school cousin in order to buy a Honda civic.

Abba Aliyu, who made up the gang of three kidnappers, said he that their intention was not to kill the boy but to get the N1million ransom for the purchase of a Honda Civic car.
The other suspects are Nasiru Abubakar, 17, and Mohammed
Danlami,16, who had been arrested for kidnapping and killing Amir.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adefemi Adenaike who paraded the kidnap suspects at
the command headquarters weekend, said the suspect,
Abba Ali on the Nov. 2, 2013, picked up the 7-year-old Amir now deceased from his
father's compound and took him to an uncompleted legislative quarters where he was tied to the wall and was
gagged with a polythene bag in his mouth to prevent him from shouting. (Tribune)

Professor Pyotr Pavlensky, A Russian, Nailed His Testicles To The Ground In Protest

An angry protester on Sunday nailed his scrotum to the ground in a painful act of protest.
Pyotr Pavlensky said the
protest was his response to Russia's descent into a "police
state" and was timed to
coincide with Police Day, which Russia's law enforcement officials celebrated on Sunday.
Pavlensky has a history of self- harming art, including sewing his lips together to protest against the jail sentences given to members of Pussy Riot and wrapping himself in barbed wire outside a Russian government building, which he said symbolised "the existence of a person inside a repressive legal system".
Pavlensky is due to appear before a district court in Moscow on Monday over the stunt and could be jailed for up to 15 days.

Patients Refuse To Leave Hospital After Treatment Because Of Free Food In Maiduguri

Call it divided of democracy or larges from govt to the people, information reaching and as reported by DailyPost recently, the implementation of
free feeding for all categories of patients in government hospitals and clinics within
Maiduguri metropolis, shows that in the last
three weeks, patients in some hospitals and clinics have refused to be discharged or vacate the premises of some of
the health centers.
It was also gathered that some nurses and medical doctors have demanded the committee on free feeding to enlist them
amongst beneficiaries of free meals being served patients in
their hospitals and clinics while relations and parents of most
of the patients on bed in some hospitals have also made same appeal.
The Chairman of the
committee, Hajiya Fati Dori in an interview with newsmen in her office in Maiduguri confirmed that several hospital
staff and relations of patients in some hospitals have
approached the members of the committee demanding for the free food being served patients on the directive of the State Governor, Kashim
Shettima.
She also said that on several occasions, the committee had received complaints from some
hospital staff that patients were delaying their treatment because of the type of food being served at the hospitals daily by the committee.
"In the morning, tea with milk and bournvita, chicken, snacks and fried yam are being
served, while in the afternoon spaghetti, rice, beans, stew, liver and meat are being
served and in the evening, semovita, rice, flour and meat, among others are served",
Hajiya Dori said.
The committee chairman further said that efforts were being made for the continuity
of the programme as plans were also underway for the
establishment of an office accommodation for the committee as well as converting the high powered committee into a board to make their work more effective.
She said the committee had received several appeals from the public to extend the free feeding to other hospitals and clinics outside the state capital.
Fati disclosed that the
committee started with 110 patients, but now had in its record 450 patients being served with free 3 square meals daily.
Commenting on the gesture, one Hajiya Yagana Mustapha, a
house wife living in Bulunkutu Kasuwa Maiduguri, who was on
bed at the Mohammed Shuwa Ultra Modern Hospital GRA Maiduguri for 3 days, for blood
transfusion, said she enjoyed her stay at the hospital despite her illness.
She said, "I am highly
impressed with the manner I was treated at the hospital during my illness. The nurses were nice. The medical doctors were humble and caring. The free food served me and my
children that were with me was impressive, as we were served standard and balanced diet that we cannot even afford at home.
"Even my daughter can
confess to you that we enjoyed our stay and at times we don't even eat the food that my husband used to bring for us from the house, because the free food they served us at the
hospital in the morning,
afternoon and evening can't be compared with what most people eat at home".

How Benjamin Daniel and Samuel Ochokwu, Students, Robbed A Cripple Of Recharge Cards.

Benjamin Daniel 20, of Area 1 Masaka and Samuel Ochokwu,
23, of Abacha Road, Mararaba, both students, were on Friday arraigned in an
Grade 1 Area Court, Aso Pada, Mararaba for conspiring and extorting one Iliya Sunday, a cripple, of 10 Baba St,
Mararaba .
According to the prosecutor, PC Friday Adaji, the complainant reported the matter to Police Station on Nov.2 how the incident happened.
"On Oct. 31 at about 12 noon the accused came to Sunday's shop where he sells mobile phone recharge cards.
"They conspired and dipped hands into his pocket and stole
recharge cards of different mobile communication network
worth N28, 000.
"The accused persons took to their heels before they were
chased and arrested with some of the recharge cards," Adaji
said.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail by the presiding judge, Mr Albert Maga.
The case has been adjourned to Nov.21 for hearing.
